OHHHH JOHNNY BOY!!!!! That last phot is awesome!!! You need to print that one and frame. I looked at it enlarged and the light, the color, the pose PERFECTO! I know you might think I am being silly (but then silly is my middle name) but in this case I really think you have the real thing. 😍
Thank you so much! That is Thor, and he was to be the star of the show, but he was a little cranky that day and you do not try to handle a cranky bald eagle! He was in his cage and while everyone else crowded up next to the fence around it, I stood back and went at 200mm (300 equiv.) at f5.6, aimed for the eye, and held my breath while I fired a burst. And all praise to ON1 masking for the rest!!😁
I agree with Camellia - that last shot is a classic. The others are really good, too. It looks like on a few, especially the 6th one, the depth of field is really narrow. Nice focusing!
Thanks Tom! As I explained to Camellia, I stood back and used my medium telephoto to compress the dof and to eliminate the cage wire as much as possible (got rid of almost all). My 55-200 (APS-C) only goes to f5.6, but that was enough to isolate and black the background. Some of my other family and friends were on a later tour that day and wondered why their cell phone photos didn't look like mine. "I have no idea", says I!
