I do envy your hummingbirds, none on this side of the pond. I have a cute little wren smaller than a shuttlecock and brown, but it is very cute and impossible to photo as it leaps all over the place and doesn't stand still for a second.
They are truly a gift and a wonder. It's nearing migration time and that is depressing. One female has taken to following me around in the morning, as she guards her feeder (one of six), while I inspect the pitiful remains of the heat stricken vegetable garden. While they rarely sit still, they have no fear of us and seem to be very comfortable around humans. Of course, I'm very comfortable around anyone who provides an unending smorgasbord!
