Also known as "The Upside-Down Forest", this human made wonder is just outside Juneau, Alaska on about 50 acres of the Tongass National Forest. It is both a tourist attraction and a landscape business. Here are links to descriptions of the history of the gardens, as well as their website. Our visit was part of a combined tour to Mendenhall Glacier and, for me, the incredible and beautiful "trees" and gardens weren't the star - it was the amazing climb (in a covered vehicle) up the steep, steep grade to the top of Thunder Mountain through the only temperate rain forest in North America.
Beautiful flowers and a beautiful surrounding.
